Leah Tanti has strong showing at CIJ Luxembourg Meet
This past weekend May 18-20 the Sirens swimmer Leah Tanti represented the National Team at the 2018 CIJ Luxembourg Meet.
The Club was very pleased with Leah’s results competing in three finals and achieving three Life Time best times
On the first day, Leah started with a personal best time in the 50m butterfly with a time of 29.71 in which she qualified third for the finals on Saturday afternoon.
Tanti’s also did not disappoint in the 50m breaststroke, taking 0.14 seconds off her entry time to qualify fifth fastest for Sunday final with a time of 35.47 seconds.
Saturday morning saw Leah then drop 00.48 splits in her toughly contested 100m freestyle event, qualifying fifth overall for Sunday’s final with a time of 01:01.40.
Saturday afternoon Leah raced in the finals, swimming personal best (PB) in the 100m Freestyle of 1:01.37 narrowly missing a medal and finishing in 4th place.
Later in the program Leah also swam in the 50m butterfly dropping another .04 splits of a second off her time resulting in a bronze medal.
On Sunday morning, she displayed another perfect swim in one of her strongest events, the 200m breaststroke, to qualify as the favourite for Sunday’s afternoon final. In which she attained a time of 2:47.72.
In her 200m breaststroke final, Leah gave another powerful performance, achieving a gold medal with a time of 2:47.19
In her last race of the competition, the 50m breaststroke final, Leah once again did not disappoint by winning bronze medal in which she took a further 0.16 of a second off to produce a 35.31, from Fridays heats.
